Puerto de la Cruz recovers the II Muelletlon Aqualia 2024
The city will host on Sunday, September 15, at 12:00 pm, a swimming and running race that will take place around the port fishing dock.
Puerto de la Cruz recovers for the sports calendar of the city the II Muelletlón Aqualia 2024, a swimming and running race that had been suspended last year due to lack of budgetary liquidity and returns to the environment of the fishing pier on Sunday, September 15, at 12:00 noon.
The II Muelletlón Aqualia, which so far has more than 85 registered participants, has a 2.5 kilometer run along the streets of Santo Domingo (start), Mequinez and San Felipe, a 1 kilometer swim in the dock and, finally, another 2.5 kilometers of running with the finish line at the Casa de la Aduana.
The Martiánez Shopping Center hosted this morning, Tuesday, September 3, the presentation of a race that was attended by the Councillor for Sports of the Consistory, Alberto Cabo; the head of Production of Aqualia in Tenerife, Braulio Dominguez; the manager of the Martiánez Shopping Center, Francisco Suarez; the president of the Canary Islands Triathlon Federation, Adrian Ornia; the SEO of the Sports Association +Km OroRun, Marcos Guardia; and the president of ADVA Trisport, Sito Alonso, who stressed "the importance of recovering an event that will bring together in the city more than a hundred athletes".
The mayor highlighted "the joint effort of sponsors, public institutions and the sports community to have the test again in the city and can be developed with all the guarantees. He added that "the Muelletlón Aqualia allows us to project the image of an active city committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle".
For his part, Marcos Guardia pointed out "the importance of an event that generates great interest among athletes, with an increasing relevance throughout the island; we encourage everyone to register and enjoy a spectacular day in the Tourist City". In this line, Adrián Orta advanced that "they hope to exceed the usual participation of other aquathlons, given the interest that always generates this type of tests in Puerto de la Cruz".
On behalf of Aqualia, the main sponsoring company, Braulio Domínguez stressed that "this initiative, as well as others of a cultural and sporting nature, which also bear our name, contribute to strengthen our commitment to return the trust that the Portuenses have in the service that we provide daily through proposals aimed at promoting health.
This year we would like to highlight that the water that will be distributed to the participants along the route will be tap water, a guarantee of sustainability, for which we thank the event organizers for their commitment.
Finally, the manager of the Martiánez Shopping Center, Francisco Suárez, emphasized "how proud we are to participate once again in the Muelletlón, with even more enthusiasm if possible, in the month that coincides with the celebration of our 30th anniversary".
The registration period, which can be accessed through the link www.maskmeventos.com, will remain open until Wednesday, September 11.
