Mogan Mall, awarded best medium-small shopping center in Spain
Mogán Mall, a shopping mall managed by Grupo Número 1Mogán Mall, has been awarded by the Association of Shopping Centers as the best medium/small shopping center in Spain.
The event took place during the XVIII Congress held every year by the association, which this year was held in Seville. The shopping center, designed by the architecture and urban planning firm Aguirre y Asociados, won the Mention for the best medium/small shopping center.
The award was received at an event attended by more than a thousand professionals and sponsored by 21 of the main companies in the sector. In parallel to the Congress, the XIII Trade Fair was held with the participation of exhibitors from 41 companies. During the closing ceremony, the traditional AECC Awards were presented to recognize excellence in the work carried out by different players in the industry.
The Mogan Mall Shopping Center, inaugurated in November 2019, is located in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, and has state-of-the-art commercial, leisure and restaurant facilities, improving the range of services not only for the tourist population but also for the residents of Puerto Rico and the south of the island. Along its avenue, and separated by the central square, the commercial activities are connected to each other, with a pedestrian promenade and landscaping. The materials used for the facades and cladding are based on traditional Canarian architecture: masonry walls, blue stone from Arucas, colored plaster, etc. The idea is to show and tell the story of the Canary Islands through the architecture and its cultural symbols of identity without being excessively mimetic.
The part of the Plaza with access from the avenue is designed with a large cybernetic fountain that offers special shows every Friday and Saturday at 9:30 pm.
Taking advantage of the municipality's climate, Mogan Mall stands out for being an open space, designed to focus on quality and a unique experience in the commercial offer, which seeks to further boost the economic life of Puerto Rico.
